This manual is designed to help you learn about how the project is working, so you can learn how to work with its core team and contributors. It is designed to be a reference of project structure, policies and how to contribute to it.

Above all, while working with the Simple Machines community, it is important to be patient and kind, as your actions reflect upon Simple Machines. If you have a conflict with or are being bothered by someone, either on the team or off, please do not quarrel over it publicly. Instead, send a personal message to a project leader.

As a team member, you will be given access to privileged content. Obviously, we expect you to respect this. Do not spread confidential information to those who do not have permission to view this information. And please change your password often - just in case.

Most importantly, we do expect you to contribute. This is an open source project and we're all donating our time. If something comes up, or your priorities change, please tell us. If you need to take a break, take it. Go on hiatus or leave the team for a while. If you are not going to be able to help for a period of time, we might like to find someone else who can help out in the mean time. So make sure to tell us if exams/married life/work/etc get tough.

This manual is an ongoing work in progress, so if during your time with Simple Machines you identify a way to improve this document, please let us know!
