As a part of the Simple Machines Team, you represent Simple Machines. Therefore, it is important that you understand our approach to development, teamwork, and collaboration in general. This manual has been designed to help you with that learning and integration process, and to be a reference for you in the future, as your role within the team grows and evolves.
While reading this document, and while working with the Simple Machines community, it is important to be patient and kind, as your actions reflect upon Simple Machines. If you have a conflict with another member or are being bothered by someone, please send a personal message to a project leader about it and don't quarrel over it publicly.
You're being given access to privileged content. Obviously, we expect you to respect it and not to give out code or anything else without permission. We also hope that, especially being on the team, you change your password often - just in case.
Most importantly, we do expect you to contribute. This is an open source project and we're all donating our time... if you become disinterested, or if something comes up... please do tell us. If you are unproductive for a long period of time and don't let us know, we may try to replace you with someone who can be more active. So make sure to tell us if exams/married life/work/etc get tough.
Finally, this manual is an ongoing work in progress, so if during your time with Simple Machines you identify a way to improve this document, please let us know!
