This is the {{Tracking category}} message box.

It is used to identify tracking categories, categories mainly created to create lists of templates or pages using specific syntaxes or features.

Usage

This is a tracking category, a category intended to build and maintain a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. Rather than being part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme, these categories are used to track, for example, pages using deprecated syntaxes, to maintain a list of pages that may need to be edited en masse later, or to aggregate the members of several sub-categories by other classifications into one larger list.

This template should only be used on category pages.

This template should only be used on category pages.

When this message box is used on category pages it categorises them into Category:Tracking categories. When shown/demonstrated on any other kind of page it does not add any category, instead it shows a reminder about where this message box is supposed to be used.

Adding |hidden=yes to the template will also hide the category and display a message identical to {{Hidden category}}. This should be used to save space on pages where there are multiple templates, rather than having an additional messagebox with {{Hidden category}}.
