Moderation is the act of ensuring a forum is used according to the Administrator's rules, as well as fixing and/or removing any such problems. The rules the Admin(s) decide to enforce will vary greatly between different forums.

Moderation also refers to the specific actions that can be used to do the above. These actions include locking topics, splitting and deleting posts, moving and merging topics and more.
