A locked [[topic]] is no longer open for replies or modifications to its posts.  The [[administrator]] can permit [[member]]s to lock or unlock topics they have started. Frequently, [[moderation|moderators]] lock topics that were started in error or which have become disruptive to the community, or which are out of date.  If the moderator has locked a topic, the member cannot unlock it. Locking too many topics will stifle conversation
