Some terms in other Forum Softwares may be different in SMF. To prevent confusion, here is a list of some of the more common terms in other software and SMF.

The following is a list of terms that other software uses (left side) and what SMF calls those terms (right side).

Additional note: In many forum software you will find the term 'forum' used for each section (board) on the forum, on SMF these are called boards, and the term 'forum' is referred to the entire forum composed of all of the boards.
