Assuming you have successfully installed your forum, you would be wondering now. How do I attract and build my community?

Here are a few tips to follow:

  • Content - Content is key to any forum, without it nobody would visit it. You must create topics with this content, relevant to whatever your forum is based on.
  • Advertising - Once you have your content organised, you need to get the word out! Adding a link and description to your signatures on other forums and emails a great way to achieve this.
  • Competitions - Nothing gets a community involved like a good contest. Once you have your base community established, start competitions to increase activity from your members, by offering incentives or prizes.

These are just a few tips to help you grow your community. For more tips and even to ask your own questions, check out the Building Your Community and other Forum Advice board in the Simple Machines Community Forum.
